Online mastering

You mixed your song yourself and want it to sound as loud and clear as your references on Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube? Mastering is the last step before release.
What mastering does
In mastering I work on your finished stereo mix as a whole. I balance the sound so it works on phone speakers, headphones and in the car, bring it to a loudness that suits streaming, and make sure nothing distorts when Spotify or YouTube convert it to MP3 or AAC.
Mastering can’t fix a mix. If the vocals get lost or the bass is muddy, that’s a mixing issue. Then mix & master or a mix review first is the better choice.
How loud will my song be?
Spotify, YouTube and Apple Music play all songs at a similar loudness. Spotify, for example, plays back at around −14 LUFS. A master that is much louder just gets turned down and loses punch. So I master as loud as is usual for your genre, but with enough dynamics that the song still hits after normalisation.

What to send
Your finished mix as a WAV, ideally 24-bit or 32-bit float at your project’s sample rate. No limiter on the master bus, with the loudest peaks around −3 to −6 dBFS. If there’s a reference track you like, send it along.

Common questions
Can’t find your question? Just write me, a short message is enough. All questions
What’s the difference between mixing and mastering?
In mixing I work on every track individually and bring them together: levels, EQ, compression, effects. In mastering I only work on the finished stereo mix. If your mix is done, mastering is enough.
How long does mastering take?
You get your master within 3–5 working days as WAV and MP3. If you’re in a hurry, express delivery in 48 hours is possible.
Can I get several songs mastered?
Yes. EPs and albums get a volume discount, and all songs get a consistent sound.
Can I get a separate master for YouTube or clubs?
Yes, on request. Just tell me what you need the song for.
What if I don’t like the master?
One revision round is included. If the first version doesn’t work for you at all, you get your money back.
